Meet Gretchen O'Sullivan
I'm excited to share the joy of music with children and families in Nolensville!
I grew up in the Southern California seaside community of Goleta, just north of Santa Barbara. Music education was very important to my parents so they made sure that all of their (5) children played at least one instrument. I started piano lessons at five years old and then switched to violin when I was nine. While playing in pit orchestras for musicals, I found myself feeling drawn to stage performance and started taking voice lessons. After studying music at California State University at Northridge I pursued a career in acting and musical theater.
My pursuit led me to many different endeavors such as being a Dickens Caroler at Disneyland to singing and playing violin in a band that became a popular attraction on the ‘90’s Los Angeles club circuit. Music has always been in my life and I'm excited to impart my love of it through teaching Music Together®!
Like all Music Together teachers I have successfully completed the live Teacher Training, which is built on research in early childhood and music development. We keep our skills fresh through workshops every semester and advanced trainings offered by Music Together Worldwide. I've also completed further studies provided by the Center for Music and Young children in Princeton, NJ, and was awarded certification level 1, which is Music Together's status for outstanding achievement in teaching, musicianship, program philosophy and parent education.
